The third trial, done in Europe, randomized
hip replacement patients to enoxaparin 40 mg once daily or to tinzaparin
4500 IU daily. Prophylaxis was given 12 hrs preoperatively, 12 hrs postoperatively
and then continued on a daily basis until performance of venography
12-14 days after surgery. This study was also performed in a double-blind
fashion. Baseline characteristics were similar in the two groups.
